Introduction to Multi-Stage Pumps

A multi-stage pump is a centrifugal pump that achieves high-pressure liquid delivery through multiple impellers connected in series on the same pump shaft. Its core structure includes impellers, pump casing, guide vanes, etc. When in operation, the motor drives the impellers to rotate, and the liquid is discharged after being pressurized step by step through the multi-stage impellers. It can be divided into horizontal and vertical types according to the installation method: horizontal ones have good stability and are easy to maintain, while vertical ones occupy less space and are flexible to install. It is widely used in industrial fields such as mine drainage, chemical transportation, power plant boiler water supply, and civil high-rise building water supply. Compared with single-stage pumps, it has higher pressure at the same flow rate, compact structure and high efficiency. It can also adapt to different pressure requirements by adjusting the number of impeller stages. During use, it is necessary to regularly maintain the sealing device and ensure the matching accuracy of impellers and guide vanes to maintain stable operation
